About GL2E

Glen Green PhotographyWelcome to Girl Likes to Eat!

First, let me thank you for reading. If this is your first time visiting, GL2E is a food blog (go figure) created and managed by me, Jenny MacBeth. She was launched in March, 2012.

We occasionally have guest food bloggers and taste testers, and if available, we use Glen Green Photography. Unless tagged, most of the photos are taken by moi.

What to expect

A wide variety of my own recipe creations inspired by many. At times, cooking with craft beer, but always drinking it. You’ll also see restaurant reviews; mostly Pittsburgh, but as I travel, I will include other cities from around the world. Last but not least, product reviews (cool kitchen tools). I will even do the research for you and recommend products free of charge. All you have to do is ask. Currently, you can find products I recommend by clicking Girl Likes to Shop. If you don’t see something that you like, contact me. I would love to hear what you think is a cool tool.

Mission Statement

To share the passion of food and merriment. Girl Likes to Eat will entertain readers who are interested in the diverse world of food. We aspire to create you new recipes, share good food ideas, give you reviews on restaurants and cool kitchen tools, and last but not least, we will share the passion for craft beer.

About Jenny

I’m a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I’m not a big fan of chain restaurants. I love new experiences and non-chain venues always have a unique flare you can’t find anywhere else.

If you haven’t gotten the impression, YET, beer and food are always on my mind. I’ve been blogging since 2005. My first site, JennyMacBeth.Com, is still active, but I found that I wrote a lot about food.

I’m not a certified chef, but I pretend to be. The women in my family find pleasure in all types of foods. I grew up surrounded by the passion, and one of my sisters, is a chef.

How GL2E came to fruition

In 2011, discussions started about creating a dedicated food blog, and then the talks turned into planning. Most importantly, we had to come up with a name. It didn’t take us long. When I first met Glen’s Uncle Glen (his namesake), he picked up on the notion that I really like to eat and drink beer. It seemed that Uncle Glen was pleased with my eating habits. He was amazed at how much I enjoyed it.

About a year after meeting Uncle Glen, we went to visit Glen’s family that live in Indiana. From what I’m told, Uncle Glen had to make me his specialty caramel popcorn. He was excited to have me try it. When we arrived, Uncle Glen handed me this bag of yummy goodness and said, “I made this for you.” We laughed, and he continued to say, ” This girl likes to eat.

Uncle Glen passed away shortly after. I dedicate this site to him. He was the sweetest man, and I’m honored I had a few moments with him that I will cherish.
